Ken Boddy, General Secretary of the Slough Town Cup, sadly passed away on Friday 24th April. Ken had been ill for some time.
Ken loved football. His long devotion to and involvement with local Slough football is well known. For many years Ken worked with the Slough Soccer Combination, along with being a member of the Berks & Bucks FA Council from 1984. He became a life member in 2004 in recognition of his efforts and dedication.
Ken became a member of the Slough Town Cup Management Committee in 1992 and served as the Referee Sec and General Sec across many spells over two decades.
Ken was involved with the Slough Town Cup all the way through this campaign, which sadly coincided with his illness.
For those who wish to express their condolences, whilst remembering a local football legend, his funeral takes place on Monday 11th May, at 1pm at St Mary's Church Langley.
All are welcome at Slough Crematorium from 2pm to offer their thanks and condolences.
From a personal perspective, I would like to thank Ken for his work in the 10 years I have known him and will prefer to celebrate his efforts towards grassroots football.
Not enough people like Ken Boddy.
