Chalvey Sports Reserves have won Division Three with 5 games to spare after a wonderful season.
Chalvey's strong team spirit and clever recruitment, not to mention their strong players, have allowed the club to enjoy the success early this season.
Chalvey actually started the season with a draw, taking a point from Old Windsor Reserves in a thrilling 3-3 draw back in September. Yet, an amazing 13 goal-bonanza where the champs nicked a 7-6 win over Willow Wanderers started a run; 11 straight wins, bagging 57 goals.
The Champs were then held by Phoenix Old Boys 2-2, the only other dropped points before claiming the title. Another run of wins, this time 20 goals in 4 straight wins, gave Chalvey enouhg points not to be caught, a shining result a 9-2 win over Braybrooke.
Chalvey celebrated their success with a superb 7-1 win over pre-season favourites Britwell Reserves, before the Britwell side enacted revenge to take the first win against the winners. FCB continued their cup form and side in the league to beat the Champs last night, with Chalvey safe in the title.
The goals have come from many different players but Danny Gaut's 30 strikes, including his 6-goal haul vs Willow Wanderers in September, his 4-goal haul against Braybrooke along with his other 3 hatricks have undoubtedly been the highlight and he leads the Golden Boot chart. J Austin & M Carroll also appear on the list, with 15 and 11 respectively.
Congratulations from the league!!!
