Barley Mow win Division One!!!

3 years ago By Jeff Beck

EBFL debutants Barley Mow have won Division One after their 4-0 away win last night!

The Maidenhead side have been exceptional all season, maintaining a 100% winning league record in their games played.

The season started in controversy as their opening game against Richings Park was abandoned, but following this, the Mow have fired 45 goals in their rush to the title.

A 10-1 win over Slough Central in September stamped their authority on the division and an early October win over fancied Burnham Beeches enforced their intent. Another 10-1 win over Iver Heath Rovers was the highlight of their run and a last minute winner over chief rivals Old Windsor killed any chance of a title race in late Feb.

J Hicks in the top scorer for the side with 10 league goals and sits second in the Golden Boot charts. L Hawkins, R Carpenter & J Wright also sit on the divisional list.

The Mow still have two to play for the chance for a perfect season!

There is also the matter of a cup final as they face Division Two Slough Heating Reserves in the Norfolkian Junior Cup on 23rd April.

Congratulations from the league!!!
